New Tile

We finally got some tile flooring in our kitchen. We have had just concrete...since hurricane Ike. Holy Cow that is a long time. Anyways, we got our kitchen tiled like I was saying and we also decided to tile our fireplace. We are very happy with the results.

I stumbled upon this picture so that you have an idea of what it looked like before...This was August of last year. Gramma sent C some balloons for his birthday...
And After...

We originally had tile in the kitchen. THEN, laminate. The original tile popped up due to moisture. B decided to put down this stuff to eliminate the chance of this tile suffering the same fate. It goes on BRIGHT pink, the entire kitchen was glowing magenta...Then dries red...

Here is our "Oh, so close to being finished" kitchen. All we need now is some paint!

This is just another picture of the fireplace. Glacier likes it!!

The tanning bed

So each of the kiddos have needed a photo-therapy bed to help with their bilirubin levels. C's were especially high. I remember we had to go to the Dr so he could give blood SEVERAL times during his 1st week of life. He did cry the first couple times, but by the end of the week, he slept right through it:) He was pretty jaundice in retrospect.

AM was jaundice as well with high levels, but the photo therapy bed was old hat at this point. I didn't even take a close up of her in her bed. This is what it was like at night on my "shift". Those home bed were great though... with the zip up jacket and blanket. Much more functional than the hospital bed.

AC had to go under the lights at the hospital and they did not have the "bed" that projects light from the bottom. The hospital only had a light that projects from the top. Therefore requiring the sweet sunglasses that we could not keep on her face!

The Car Seat

Sadly, we have had a different car seat for each kid. We never really like the first one for C. We got a new one for AM. They were both travel systems. The travel system consists of the car carrier that the baby actually rides in, the "base" that the carrier snaps into for car rides and the stroller that the carrier also snaps into. AM's stroller was stolen when B and I attended a Texans game. Honestly, who steals a stroller...

AC's current travel system is from my sister and we love it! It seems so light and functional... Thanks Sis!! It's a GRACO. The stroller is awesome too because it kinda stands up on it own which makes for each loading and unloading from the car.

Here is AC...This is the day we brought her home from the hospital.
Here is AM... This seat was "Eddie Bauer", but I wouldn't recommend it or anything. She is a couple weeks old here!

Here is C... He is over a month old. OMG! He is almost 4.

Our Anniversary

How is this for a compare and contrast? I really do feel that OUR relationship is one of the most important things in my life. One of the reasons why is that I hope to show our kids what a good marriage looks like. We read in the book "Baby Wise". That doing that is the most important thing you can do as a parent...and I kinda took to it. Probably because I like B so much!

Anywho, for our 1st anniversary, my very thoughtful husband drove us up to College Station to eat at the restaurant where we had our very first date! We then walked around campus and went to the classroom where we met. So sweet!

For our 8th anniversary, we went to eat downtown at a fancy steakhouse. B told them about our special occasion and they gave us a great booth table in the corner. We also scored a free dessert, although we were literally too full to eat but a few bites.
This is tough to post. I am and look so old. We talked about the past year since our last anniversary. We also talked about what we might do for our 10th ...maybe Alaska, maybe Hawaii... maybe if we win the lotto! We still love each other very much and can't believe we have had 3 kids since that first picture:)

The first bath

I am going to begin a series of "COMPARE and CONTRAST"s. It's gonna be great. R U excited?

We start with the first baths. Here is AC after her very first "submersion" bath. Her belly button didn't fall off until she was almost 4 weeks. After that I was just used to giving her the sponge bath. She seems to really enjoy the bath. No matter how I mess up her hair, it always ends up parted and flat.

Here is AM. NOW, as the "lost" middle child, I did not take a picture of her first bath. This is a picture of her on a towel so for all intents and purposes, this will work, BUT as we all know...this is where we changed her diaper for the first month or so. She had so little hair on top.

I made sure to take a picture of C's first bath because one of Granny's friends made us a great "pre-made" scrapbook, and one of the pages was a FIRST BATH page. We used to love to comb all his thick, dark hair after a bath.

He looks so grown up this his styled hair!

So, I love my sis!!

She came to visit with her 2 1/2 yr old this past weekend! It was a great weekend, probably because AC was so sweet and pretty good! My older two LOVE her and her little one! We are so excited they were able to make it out here this summer to visit!

ANYWHO!! Her she is with my older two!

It is tough to get a group shot with all those kiddos!!

There was swimming and eating and napping and singing...

...and wrestling.

This is a classic picture, right? What is really going on here?

C's last week of school

At C's school, they had a "water day" to celebrate the last week of school. All the parents brought in some water toy to play with and then they ordered pizza, had snow cones, and gave them great toys to play with! C had a blast!!

C was a little hesitant at first, especially with the shaving cream. He is usually kind of a neat freak...
But, he came around!! Thanks to his buddy for showing him how to have a good time!

AC enjoyed herself. At two weeks old, all the mothers thought she was pretty cute!!
