Hurricane Ike

So, we are all okay. We have been staying at the in-laws after spending Friday night at the high school. We are still with out power, but a cool front came in so the weather is very pleasant. A tree fell on the corner of our house and rolled onto B's truck. The truck is fully functional with a few minor scrapes and scratches, but we will probably need a new half-a-kitchen. All in time.

Thanks so much for all your thoughts and prayers. In the meantime, we are enjoying all of the comforts of a small generator and time with family.

Did I mention C scored an escalade?

C got this sweet ride for his birthday! He is getting so good at driving it. Initially, when he would run into something, he would get out and push the car to a clear path. Now, he can back up and turn and he looks where he going...
Here is AM enjoying a ride from her brother...She actually doesn't like it when it moves. When we would go to Toys'r'us, I would let the kids sit in all the cars and jeeps, but they never moved or made any noise. I think she prefers that.
C is smitten with our neighbors great granddaughter and luckily...she was quite taken with the car!! C's first date.

First Day of School :)

Today was the first day back to school for the Fall. This is a big deal because C started preschool and AM is in the older toddler class. MAN! They both had their backpacks and they were pretty excited to go. I am so lucky that I will be able to drop them off this semester as my classes don't start until 11:00. Next semester I have an 8 o'clock...MAN!!

The day started off well. C ended up sleeping in bed with us until B left for work at 6am, but then AM got up at 6:30 and I just got in the shower. The kids had milk and got dressed. C only had one "time-out", all in all, a pretty good morning. We took a couple pictures here and there, sang some songs on the way to school and settled into new classrooms.

So, we inherited these boots...

I think they are hideous, but AM really loves her shoes. Actually, she loves every one's shoes. She love wearing C shoes or my shoes or anyone that comes over and takes off their shoes. She found these and HAD to wear them.

Daddy had to run and errand to the Stein and took AM with him. She, of course, would not take off the atrocious boots and Daddy was forced to take her in public wearing them. We thought she would get some laughs, but NO. My suspicions about the Stein were confirmed when B came home and told of stories of women going on and on about how adorable her boot were...huh?

C's summer school

C and AM just finished a short 3 week summer school MDO at our church. I was so special because C got to celebrate his birthday at school with his buddies. He had an interesting class...only one girl and like 10 boys I think.

They love their uncle.

We are so lucky to have B's family close to us. C and AM love their Uncle. Luckily, I think he likes them pretty well too.
C and AM have gotten into giving zerburts(aka raspberries)...you know...making a toot sound. Here is AM giving Daddy one after she had gone around to everyone in the room and done the same. C went to give Uncle B-rad one, but said, "You're too hairy!"
