"Radio" lunch

So 7pm on Wed night, we are reading some stories, getting ready for bed. The kids will go to school on Thursday. C says that he has to wear boots tomorrow for Radio Lunch at school. B and I are baffled by this. Why would he need boots for Radio Lunch? What is a Radio Lunch anyways? I think at one point, B asked if they were going to play music for them or something. After some more questioning, C tells us he needs to dress like a cowboy for school for Radio Lunch.... The light bulb goes off....RODEO LUNCH!!!

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has begun and they celebrated on Thursday at school by having the kids dress in their cowboy gear and having a campfire lunch. B ran out that night and bought C some new boots!! C asked,"Did Daddy get my school boots?" first thing when he woke up the next morning.

At school, they sung songs, played games and had a great time. We had AM wear her boots too. Evidently, C insisted that AM wear the fireman's hat since he got to wear his cowboy hat. Granny said he didn't take it off once all day :)

Last Thursday's Playdate!

I felt so lucky last Thursday to be able to pick up the little ones from school. We met up with our friends at the park. There are 3 children in this family and they are all one year apart. I always tell people about them... Her oldest is in C's class, her youngest is 2 days older than AM, BUT she has one in between. CRAZY!! They are so fun to be around!!

I was so proud that C was able to learn how to climb over this and down the other side.

C refers to this as the "boat park". Kids love this boat!
Unfortunately, there wasn't much to look at except for water beetles...lots of water beetles!

PS Cabinets are in the garage, ready to be installed tomorrow. The wait starts for the counter tops on Thurs...

I know...right?

I can't believe it, but I went to Las Vegas...7+ months pregnant...for a S's 21st birthday. WHAT?

Well, it was such a great time. The only downside was too much to do with too little time! We stayed at the Bellagio and spent our time WALKING all over the strip with a bit of gambling thrown in time to time :) We certainly did a good deal of laughing, a pinch of eating, splash of shopping, and very little sleeping.

The pregnancy really worked out in my favor. No one tried to give me "sexy girl" cards, everyone made sure I had plenty to eat, and I didn't have to sleep on the floor at the hotel...ya know, pregnant=must sleep in bed.

Remember when...

Sorry about the 15 sec commercial that precedes the video. One of B and my songs...if there is such a thing.

This song always makes me cry. I am feeling a little nostalgic. Maybe it is because there are so many hormones flowing through my 29 week pregnant body, but maybe its because this will probably be my last pregnancy and I am reflecting on pregnancies past. Saddened because we were so busy and stressed out that I do not have any "pregnancy" pictures of when I was pregnant with AM. I guess in the long run, it doesn't matter, but when my mom asked for the ol' belly shot, I wanted to compare and contrast with C and AM.

Here is me pregnant with C at 28 weeks... 5/14/05

And me pregnant with "A" (as we will now call her) this Sunday...29 weeks...2/15/09

Its awesome I have the same shirt on, right? And now, B and I will continue watching "First Blood" on AMC.

Remember Fun Dip?

C scored some from a Valentine and it turned our tongue's green. Good Times!! This is like the only picture of our family...

Here are some tile samples we are thinking about for our back splash. I kinda like the small squares. I worry they might be to busy.

I really like the brick mosaic look as seen here, but B says its too expensive :(

We had a pretty good weekend...

Saturday we went to a birthday party. I know that parents sometimes complain that they are merely chauffeurs to sports and birthday parties, but we don't get invited to that many, so we think they are still pretty fun!
AM's party gift was these great earrings:) She also scored a diamond ring...How does she look?

S and JuJu were in town and found time to hang out with us! We love S and JuJu!! Hopefully we will see them again soon :)
The weather has been taking on more spring-like temperatures which lends itself to some kite flying and picnic in the park:)

We had another ultrasound on Fri afternoon. Baby #3 is definitely a girl and the tech was still not able to get a good picture of the heart. Things are still going well though...12 more weeks...WHAT?!

Samples.

Here are some pictures of the colors of our new cabinets and counter tops. We have black appliances. What do you think? We haven't decided on the black splash or floors. We go back and forth on the flooring because tile is so expensive to have put in. We have laminate in the dining room that B put down and would be significantly less expensive to put down.

Here is another picture with a contrasting background :)

This is the current laminate in the dining room and down the hall. I don't know if it would be a good color for the kitchen :(

BBQ Cook off and Rodeo

This weekend, we got to see Uncle B-rad and Aunt T-bird...AGAIN!! It's like they didn't even move to Austin. B and his brother were judges in the BBQ cook off at the local rodeo. They judged the "open" category in the morning and then "ribs" in the afternoon.

We made a boat before heading off to enjoy the festivities. I think B and his brother are asleep.
At the rodeo, they had a free petting zoo and free pony rides!
We grabbed some lunch. Various meats on a stick, roastin' ears, funnel cakes, lemonade...Delicious! AM ate it up! Here, she is snagging some of Pops' lunch.

The kiddos and I got our faces painted. C has a sweet dinosaur...looked more like a dragon.

We capped off the evening with some smores. B made a heck of a campfire! (Thanks to a duraflame log.)
